This road improvement project is being conducted by the City of Richmond to consider improvements along a one-mile section of Forest Hill Avenue from west of Powhite Parkway to east of Hathaway Road. The City is examining ways to improve neighborhood access, reduce accidents, add landscaping, lighting and pedestrian facilities, improve drainage and promote pedestrian and bike use.

Please email the City of Richmond asking them to consider incorporating the following changes in this project: (1) full, five foot, designated bike lanes; (2) slowing or calming the traffic speed trough the corridor; (3) a traffic signal at Rettig Road; (4) modification of slip lanes at the RMA off-ramp (westbound) improving the sight lines of motorists and clearly marking how cyclists should move through the interchange; (5) inclusion of bike accommodations via pavement markings (lines or sharrows) to ease the transition onto the RMA bridge; and (6) pavement markings to assist in facilitating the left turn onto Fairlee Road (Westover Hills).
