The City of Richmond is currently reviewing plans to change Forest Hill Avenue along the bicycling cooridor known as US Bike Route 1. This stretch is an AASHTO designated interstate bike route (which runs from Calais, Maine, to Key West, Florida. Bike riders from, literally, around the world travel through Richmond along this route).

Despite such a designation, project designs are FAILING to address cycling and commuter needs along this route. Neighborhoods are being blocked, street access is being limited, and mayhem is sure to follow if citizens sit back and let it all happen.
