This road improvement project is being conducted by the City of Richmond to consider improvements along a one-mile section of Forest Hill Avenue from west of Powhite Parkway to east of Hathaway Road. The City is examining ways to improve neighborhood access, reduce accidents, add landscaping, lighting and pedestrian facilities, improve drainage and promote pedestrian and bike use.

Did you know that accidents occurring on this section of Forest Hill Avenue OVERWHELMING happen over by the Powhite Parkway? It is no wonder why rear-end accidents are so frequent here, as drivers coming out of the toll both have to look back over their shoulders to merge into traffic on Forest Hill. This has to be the most dangerous section for cyclists as well -- as there is no clear Bike Path crossing over the bridge and in and out of the Westover Hills & Willow Oaks neighborhoods.
Why is it then that the Forest Hill Improvement Project, doesn't improve this situation? Isn't that why the corridor needs improvements?
