Something strange is going on with the Forest Hill Improvement Project, and its time to shed some sunlight on it. Last Dec. two design ideas were floated on how to address traffic problems on Forest Hill Ave. The City asked for public input and stated design changes would be presented in the Spring for review. However,... that spring meeting never happened and the Dept of Public Works went ahead and presented the old design to the Urban Design Committee. When you look at the public comments, you can see why Public Works bolted the process -- overwhelmingly the public wanted changes!! The UDC expressed some concern as well; and the project sat (unchanged) while depts within the City argued about what to do. At the end of September the City placed the various depts through arbitration by a team of 3rd-party design professionals. The arbitration resulted in a consensus!! However, after the exercise, Public Works again bolted the process and tossed out the new plan.
